Homework Due Tomorrow!

Seniors--hope you had a great time today!

Although we (seniors) have lots of fun stuff to do, and even though the end of the year is quickly approaching for all of us, we need to balance that excitement with our schoolwork. We still have PreCalc to learn and at least 1 test to take! Stay focused when you're here!

Here's the breakdown for (hopefully) our last homework assignments:

Due Thursday:
Page 372: 7-19 (odd), 23, 29 (only worry about sine and cosine, you can skip the "tangent" for questions 7-19)

Due Monday:
Page 382: 35, 37, 39, 41, 85, 87
***We currently know how to solve all of these except for 35-41. Get these done now so you don't have to worry about them this weekend!***

Take Home Test!

First and foremost, enjoy your 3-day weekend! I know I've been making you work hard (especially on today's quiz); I appreciate all of your hard work! Keep it up! Only 7 more class periods to work through (or even fewer for seniors!)

The extra-credit "solving trig equations" worksheet is due next Friday.

Your homework this weekend is your take home test! Get an A and boost your average!
  • The take home test is due Tuesday
  • If you are absent on Tuesday and you are a senior, you MUST drop off your take home test before you leave for the senior picnic on Wednesday or your test will be counted as late.
  • You will lose 10 points for every day you turn in your test late!
Check out the images below if you need/lost/don't have the test! (or, you can email me and I will send you an attachment. carofano.fm@easthartford.org)

When's Day HW

Tonight, please finish any problems that we did not complete during our Bingo game today. I plan to collect and grade these problems as classwork, so make sure you finish and get them in! This counts more than a usual homework assignment (since we did more than half in class today).

Period D--I did not have time to check your homework today, so I will be checking your homework from the book (from Tuesday) tomorrow!

Period A--if you did not have the book problems today, you can do them tomorrow for full credit.

Here are the problems in case you were absent or didn't grab the sheet. The answers are on the right--your job (of course) is to show all of the work!

All of them need to be completed!

Tonight, please complete the following (and you know I'm checking this one...):
Page 364: 17, 19, 21, 23, 27, 31, 33

Enjoy! Tomorrow we'll wrap up our notes and do some more practice with solving trig equations! Yay!

Weekend HW

Solving trig equations...yes!

This weekend, please complete the following:
Page 364: 1,3,7-17 (odd)
Let's all do our homework so we can have a night off! Tonight it's gon' rain a lot...perfect night for solving
some trig equations....

Enjoy the weekend! See you all Monday!

Thursday, May 15, 2014

No homework!

Hopefully you aced today's quiz!

Tomorrow we'll start section 5.3, solving trig equations! Time to combine everything we learned recently with the unit circle! Come to school ready to learn!

See you all tomorrow!

QUIZ TOMORROW!

Tomorrow we have our quiz on trigonometric identities (before we start some "new stuff" on Friday).

Tomorrow's quiz is comprised of the following:
  • First question: write down 4 Pythagorean identities; you must reference all 6 trigonometric functions with the identities you write
  • 4 matching identities questions
  • 3 verifying identities questions
  • 5 matching identities questions
If you were out today, we did some group work with trig identities...don't worry about making it up, but the answer key to the problems we worked on is below...use this to help you study!

Tuesday HW

Tonight, please complete the 7 "verify" problems at the bottom of the worksheet provided in class.

Tomorrow we'll answer any questions and practice some verifying, then we'll have a quiz on all this identity "stuff" on Thursday!

More Identities!

Tonight, please complete problems 1-8 and 13-17 on the worksheet provided in class. If you lost yours, you can find it below:

Tomorrow we'll start the next section--verifying trig identities--in class. We'll practice this a bit on Wednesday, and then I'm thinking we'll move our quiz to the half-day, Thursday. Friday it's onto new stuff.

Tonight's HW:

Identity Homework Due Monday!

Are you enjoying the identities? No more math problems that have one answer; these are more like a puzzle that we have to solve--hopefully you're enjoying the challenge!

The following homework problems will be checked on Monday, as many of us have AP exams to prepare for.

Page 346: 51-59 (odd), 27-35 (odd), 65, 67

*To receive homework credit you must show all of your work. No work, no credit. This will count as a double homework, since we have until Monday.*3

If you have the AP Bio or Physics exam Monday, good luck! Study hard! You can worry about all this identity stuff Monday night (if you like).

Thursday, May 8, 2014

Tomorrow's Friday! (AP Stat Exam!)

*If you have an AP exam on Monday it might be a good idea to do the book problems tonight, or you could save them for Monday night and show me Tuesday. Use the weekend to study for your exam.

*If you have an exam tomorrow and Monday, just come talk to me. We can work something out so that we can accommodate your studying for AP exams.

Trig Identities!

How's your brain feeling after today? We finally got a taste of what trig identities are all about...I know they're hard--you just have to keep struggling through the problems, and keep practicing. There's no way to just "get it." Every problem is different, so all we can do is practice.

The following homework problems will be checked on Monday, as many of us have AP exams to prepare for. However, you will likely get another worksheet to try this weekend, so I'd recommend doing these now if you have time!

Page 346: 51-59 (odd), 27-35 (odd), 65, 67

*To receive homework credit you must show all of your work. No work, no credit. This will count as a double homework, since we have until Monday.*

Tuesday HW

Tonight, please complete the following identities in your textbook:

Page 346: 27,29,31,33,35

Enjoy!

Tomorrow we'll get back to work on our identities, as we'll begin to explore the Pythagorean Identities and start to combine this with the "algebra stuff" we've been working on!

Oh yeah....tomorrow's Nuha's birthday too....

Trig Identity Week! And AP Exam Week!

This is going to be a tough unit--stay on top of your homework, ask questions in class, and study! And check the blog every day!

Tonight, please complete the "Trig Identities and Algebra" problems below. (You can only find this on the blog!) I will DEFINITELY be checking this in class tomorrow, as not only do we need to practice, but we also need to get into the habit of checking the blog DAILY!

Also, remember we will have a short quiz instead of a stamp problem tomorrow! It will have 2-3 problems (like this weekend's homework), and 1-2 that deal with factoring/expanding expressions.

Friday, May 2, 2014

Weekend HomeworK!

For those of you who have the AP Psych exam, study hard, and good luck! (You will have some PreCalc to make up).

On Monday we will start exploring some tough stuff with trig identities. I promise that these will be the most challenging 2 chapters of the class!

This weekend, you a worksheet with 14 identities to work on! I"m going to count this homework as double, because it's the start to our identities unit! (It's below). In class on Monday we will have a quiz that uses questions like the homework or from the homework...so do it!

Thursday, May 1, 2014

Did you get an A on today's test?

No homework tonight!

Tomorrow is Mr. Cawley's last day! We'll start to explore trigonometric identities in class before doing some practice for homework this weekend. Tonight, rest your brains...this identity stuff is going to be hard.

If you were absent today, don't forget you'll have to make up the test asap!
