TEST TOMORROW!

Tonight, study, study, study!

Also, remember that if you complete the "Analyze the Graph" sheet provided in class today you can boost your quiz grade (also "Analyze the Graph.")! This will ONLY be accepted tomorrow!

Here's a breakdown of what's on your test:

  • Write the equation of a line passing through two points in all 3 forms (1.1)
  • Write the equation of a line parallel to a given line and through a given point (1.1)
  • Write the equation of a line perpendicular to a given line and through a given point (1.1)
  • Determine if a table/mapping/graph is or is not a function (1.2)
  • Evaluate a function (or piecewise function) for a given value of x (1.2)
  • Define domain and range (1.2/1.3)
  • Define intervals where a function is increasing, decreasing, constant (1.3)
  • Identify a type of function by the shape of it's graph ("parent functions") (1.4)
  • Describe any shifts/reflections in a function given its equation (1.4)
  • Write the equation of a function given some shifts/reflections (1.4)
  • Graph a function given its equation (based on shifts/reflections) (1.4)
  • Evaluate a function (find y, given x) using a graph ("Analyze the Graph")
  • Identify x and y intercepts given a graph ("Analyze the Graph")
  • Find all values of x, given f(x) = # ("Analyze the Graph")
  • Evaluate, for example, f(a + 2) given a function (1.2)
  • Graph a line in point slope and/or slope-intercept form (1.1)
  • Find any/all relative maxima/minima using a graphing calculator (1.3)
  • Find the domain of a rational (fraction) function (remember, denominator can't equal 0)
  • Find the domain of a radical (square root) function (remember, "what's under the radical must be greater than or equal to 0")

How to study:
  • Look over your 1.1 quiz, your 1.2 classwork, and your 1.2/1.3 take home quiz!
    • Look at any comments/feedback--don't make the same mistake twice!
  • Complete the review packet from today's class AND CHECK YOUR ANSWERS (key below)
  • Complete the "Analyze the Graph" sheet tonight! (look at your quiz for comments/feedback so you don't make the same mistake twice!)
  • Look at the examples in your textbook within each section (1.1 to 1.4)
  • Look over your notes!
  • Use any videos online (try some links on the right of the blog) to review topics you are less confident about!
And here is the answer key to today's review:
  • Multiple Choice:
    • 1.)A
    • 2.)C
    • 3.)B
    • 4.)C
    • 5.)A
