Also, your homework this weekend will be to spend 20 minutes using Khan Academy--it might be a good idea to get a head start tonight and use Khan to study for the test! Then you're studying and getting your weekend homework done!
Here's a breakdown of exactly what's on tomorrow's test. It is entirely based on our summer assignment and includes both open ended and multiple choice questions!
- Find the equation of a line through a given point and parallel or perpendicular to a given line
- Evaluate a function for a given value (sub for x!)
- Identify the intervals where a function is increasing/decreasing/constant
- Describe the transformations (shifts, reflections) in a given function
- Find compositions of functions--we covered this on the back of a warmup in class!
- Find the graph of a function and its inverse
- Determine if a table is a function
- Evaluate a piecewise function
- Write the equation of a function given some shifts/reflections
- Sketch the graph of a function knowing its shifts, reflections, and shape
- Write the equation of a line passing through two points
- Graph a linear equation in point slope form
- Given a graph, identify domain and range
- Evaluate f(#) from a graph
- Find the x and y intercept from a graph
- Find the inverse of a function
- Add, subtract, multiply and divide functions
- To study, you should look over your summer assignment and definitely review all of the warmups and notes we took in class over the past week!
On Monday we'll start chapter 2 and it'll feel more like a regular math class! Until then, study and get an A!
