Weekend HW: Applications of Quadratics!

This weekend please complete the worksheet provided in class (Quadratic Equations: Applications); you can also find the questions below if you lost yours or were out.

Here are some comments/ideas/thoughts to help you out with your homework:
  • You can use a graphing calculator to help you complete all of this (just like today's classwork), OR you can do the problems by hand!
    • Questions 1ab, 2abc, and 3ab are all just as easy/difficult "by hand" (algebraically) as they are using the graphing calculator!
    • Question 3c can also be done using the quadratic equation--this might be a pain, but it will work! OR you can use your calculator to help!
  • If you do not have a graphing calculator, you have a few options
    • Do everything by hand (algebraically)
    • If you have an Android phone download the app linked on the right
    • OR try to use the Desmos Online Calculator on the right (you can also download this app on the iPhone)
      • The Desmos app will definitely help with your homework, but don't rely on this too much because you can't use Desmos on the SAT's or our in class assignments!
  • Use your notes--specifically about the problem with a person throwing a ball that we discussed in class--as a reference!
And here are the homework questions in case you lost yours or were out!

We will finish our classwork on Monday, answer any homework questions, and get ready for a quick quiz Tuesday! Then it's on to section 2.2! Have a great weekend!
